A focused renewal course for currently certified lifeguards who want to sharpen essential skills, practice emergency team response, and renew for another two years.
You’ll need a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification—or one expired by no more than 30 days. If yours has been expired longer, choose the full Lifeguarding course.

What is the difference between the full course and recertification?
The full Lifeguarding course is for first-time participants or people whose prior certification is outside the renewal window. Recertification is a focused renewal course for eligible current or recently expired certificate holders.
What prerequisites must I meet?
Full-course participants must be at least 15 by the final class day, complete the current swimming prerequisites, and finish assigned online learning before class. Recertification participants need a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification or one expired no more than 30 days. A parent or legal guardian must complete required agreements for anyone under 18.
How much does training cost and how do payments work?
Current pricing appears with each class in the live schedule. A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at registration, and the remaining 50% is due 72 hours before the course begins.
When and where are classes held, and how long are they?
Most public classes are held at partner facilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Exact dates, times, locations, and course format appear in each live listing. Participants must attend every scheduled session from the start time.
What happens if I am late or need to cancel?
Late arrivals cannot be admitted. Payments are non-refundable, but eligible cancellations may be moved to another available class or converted to training credit. No-shows forfeit all deposits paid. See the complete policy before registering.
